Another week, another foot of snow, and another transfer! Sister Jeffery is leaving us to go to State College, I'm staying and training, obviously, and that means Sister Nilsson is too! Surprise haha. But, Thursday I do get to go to the promised land (Pittsburgh) and get some more training on how to be a trainer cause heaven knows I need it! Any who, highlights! Buckle up because most of these are weird!
2. While in the same projects, an Indian man came out with a giant bag of soda and beer cans and we offered to help him. He didn't speak a lick of English, and all I knew how to say was "namaste", so we crushed beer cans with our feet in silence and then slinked away awkwardly, retaking the smell of beer. Missionary work is so glamorous, but we got to brighten someones day!
3. We had a lesson with our deaf less active, Glenda and it was SO good! My ASL is getting a lot better so I was able to ask her a lot of questions and testify to her in a way she could understand of Jesus christ and Joseph Smith as a prophet of God. At the end, she prayed, which she has never done and it was so good! The spirit was very strong! I love that lady a ton!
4. Again, in this same project, we went and visited twin sisters named Gabby and Ariel. It was..... Weird. Pretty much the whole time it felt like we were in a therapy session trying to convince them that one was not jealous of the others relationship and vice versa. Then Gabby at some point turns to us and says "Do you feel a presence here?" all I could say was, "not usually..." and she proceeded to tell us about how the project used to be a graveyard. Then she told us she was tired of men so she was going to be a lesbian... It was dead silent in the room for about 10 second before she said she was kidding. I don't know how we got ourselves into that one haha
5. We had a lesson with Dawn, our recent convert, about the love of God and how the gospel blesses families. She got really emotional about some times she has felt God's love and it warmed my heart when she described that she always feels God's love when we have came to her house. Ugh, I love missionary work! I think that's pretty much all I have, I'm sure there was more but I will spare you haha.
I love you all and I am so grateful for all you do for me! Your prayers mean the world.
Have a great week!
