The Week I Got Hit On By A Drunk Pirate- January 8,2018

Hey Yinz!
This week has been pretty good! Pretty low key but good! We have been doing lots of finding to try and get new people to teach, which hasn't been super successful, but God gives us credit for trying! Haha. It has been FREEZING here. This is the Coldest winter PA has seen in ten years! This week we hit a windchill of - 32! So it slowed down the work to say the least haha.
 Highlights
 1. On Wednesday we went to a town we hardly ever get to to contact some less active members and potential investigators. As we walked, a man with an eye patch and obviously drunk came across our paths and started asking who we are. We kind of played with him and asked if he knew who we were and he slurred some things we didn't understand. But he kept making kissy faces at us and saying "I love you girls" and I just about died laughing. It was definitely a highlight.
 2. We had a lesson with the Reids. Cindy read ALL of the 11 chapters we gave them to read and it was so awesome to see how excited she was about what she learned from the Book of mormon. She told us "I can't wait to read more and finish the book!" So tender
 3. We had a lesson with Theresa who has had some questions about the authenticity of the Bible, considering how many times it has been picked apart and retranslated. We were able to read 1 Nephi 13 with her and talked to her about the plain and precious parts of the Bible that were taken out are in the book of mormon! She was so excited about getting an answer to her question and can't wait to keep reading!
 4. We had another lesson with Chazz where we read from the Book of mormon with him and it was so awesome to see how excited he was to understand what he read and how he could see what we read applying in his life. I love that kid! I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of President Thomas S. Monson. He lead a life of Love, Friendship, and Service that is comparable to few who have lived on this earth. He has changed my life. I remember when he announced that sisters could serve a mission at age 19 instead of 21, and the feelings from the spirit I received, confirming that he was a prophet of God. I am so grateful to know that we have a living prophet on the earth today, to direct and guide us in this troubled world. In the words of a beloved hymn that's been on my mind all week "Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!" what a treat for heaven to have him back. he will be deeply missed. I love you all and hope you had an awesome week!
