Oh my goodness was this the best Easter ever or what? Because it sure was over here! My Cup runneth OVER! Christ is risen and that is something to scream and shout about! Now on to my Highlights!
HIGHLIGHTS
1. One day this week everything fell through, and I had just about had it. I was really angry because it feels like this has happened every day for like 3 weeks! But, we pushed on and tried one more person before we went in. Well, we finally got in contact with a girl named Randeza that we met a few weeks ago. She opened the door and immediately burst into sobs and tears. She told the story of how she just lost a close friend who was shot. She cried and cried, and I just grabbed this total stranger and held her until she stopped crying. I felt so much of the love that God had for her that I began to cry as well. We testified to her of the Plan of Salvation, and the power we receive through what christ did for us and you could physically tell she felt so much peace. That was a highlight for me. I know that we can see our loved ones again and I know that we are loved immensely by God.2. We had a lesson with our less active named Conor about the gospel of Jesus christ, the Plan by which we can be forgiven and made clean of our sins. The spirit was so strong and he was so excited to repent of what he had done wrong and be better! How cool is that?!
3. We had a lesson with our recent convert, Roberta, who has been struggling to keep the Commandments and attend church. We taught something completely different than we planned, but the spirit was so strong in the lesson and she testified to herself of what she has learned since joining the church. We left her with a greater conviction of the truth of the gospel and a great desire to go to the temple. GOD IS GOOD!
4. We had Zone Conference this week all centered on Christ and the Easter season and it was SO good! I'm so grateful for the teaching we receive from president Bednar, he is amazing. And the Testimonies missionaries gave during the meeting touched my heart.
5. My favorite Highlight of all is by FAR General Conference. Oh. My. Goodness. What an incredible experience. I received so many answers to my questions and it was such an honor to stand and sustain President Nelson and God's Prophet on the earth today. I KNOW that this church is Christ's pure and restored church on the earth today. I know that God continues to give us revelation to day and that he loves us more than we can comprehend. I plead with anyone who didn't watch it to go to LDS.org and read or watch the talks given. I promise you will receive answers to your hearts greatest questions.
6. My highlight for highlights was the announcing of the new temples. From Utah (of course), to Chile and Nicaragua, to the first temples to EVER be built in the Countries of India and Russia. For anyone who doesn't know, my father served in Russia, which gives me a reason for my exotic name.
I cried tears of joy knowing Russia will now have a temple on its soil. God truly is hastening his work. President Nelson said during one of his addresses, "Regardless of what others may say or do, no one can take away a witness borne to your heart and mind about what is true". These things I know to be true. God lives, and loves us. Jesus Christ is His Son, a now glorious and resurrected being. Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and Russell M Nelson is his rightful predecessor. Nothing can take this knowledge away from me. My favorite song of all time was sung by the choir in conference and the last line says, " Have faith, have hope, live like His Son, help others on their way." May we all try to live our lives in this manner.
I LOVE YOU ALL!
Bananas and pepperonis in Sister Nilsson salad... Swedish people are weird, but we love anyways!
Conference with the Erie First sisters.
've served in an area with NY in it for like 6 months and I finally got a sign haha.
Sister Nilsson and I found these cool reversible stuffed animals and the thrift store and it's been the highlight of my life. Mine is named Stewart, hers is Schwabby... Inside jokes haha.
Oh, the things that you find that are gluten free!
How I feel about this past conference!
