Adventures of the Island Girls August 28, 2017

Malo lelei! Fefe Hake? How are you all? This was seriously an awesome week! So many tender mercies happened and we got a lot done. First off though, happy birthday to my little brother jubal! I love you and miss you bud! I hope you're having fun at the new house and catching lots of fish for me! Also, TODAY IS MY 8 MONTH MARK. I've been out almost half my mission! It's going way to fast!
 HIGHLIGHTS
 1. Tuesday was a crazy day! We got to go and visit a investigator I've never met named Joy and it was great! She wasn't ready to have a lesson, but it was good to meet her. We got stuck in the heaviest rain I've seen yet in Pennsylvania and we got really soaked haha. But it was good!
 2. ERIC. Oh my goodness, I can't even begin to explain to you how amazing Eric is! We had an almost 2 hour lesson with him, just addressing his concerns and answering questions. He has such a strong desire to learn as much as he can in this life and to please God. For those of you who don't know, Eric LOVES Mormons. He has so many books from the teaching of the prophets, family home evening books, bios of Joseph Smith, anything you can think of. He has a lot of concerns, but they can all Be helped. It was just a super powerful lesson and he has such a testimony of Joseph Smith which is unheard of in an investigator. Sister Finau and I both felt prompted to invite him to be baptized and we both ignored it, which makes me feel super ashamed. But this week we will!
 3. We had a lesson with our investigators Judith, which was also the restoration. She really liked it and I think things will go well if we keep meeting with her every week. She's read half of the book of mormon and has sincere questions that we can help her find answers to.
 4. Thursday we spent most of the day at the hospital because Sister Finau got a tick bite. Tick carry something called Lymes disease that's pretty terrible, so we had to get that taken care of quickly.
 5. We have had 3 people this week and call us to say they were interested in learning about the gospel. That's seriously amazing! We have plans to see some of them this week!
 6. This Friday we had a special zone conference that was just amazing. The past few weeks I've been asking God in my prayers, how I could be more humble and obedient. The Zone conference we held was specifically about reiterating some rules in the white handbook and changing the way our mission is working so we can be more obedient. I am so grateful for the Bednars and I know they are called of God. I love them so much!
 7. We did service for my favorite, Sister Benjamin! I just love her so much! Afterwards we sat outside and she told us of some things she is struggling with and questions she has and we were able to help her a little. She's amazing! 8. This Sunday I got to speak on "how my family has helped me learn the gospel". It was so awesome to reflect back on how much my family has shaped me into who I am. I also got to share some stories about growing up in Alaska that knocked the socks off of some members haha. I'm grateful bishop asked me to speak! That's about all I have for this week! Thank you so much for everyone who has kept me in their prayers and supported me in any way. It seriously means more than you know and helps me feel strength when I don't have my own. God bless! Ofa Atu!

Lunch with a member from sister Finau's last area!

My mom sent me salmon so I made salmon dip!

Last week in Pittsburgh! Don't ask me why I'm in regular clothes, it's a long story.

We were the judges of a cupcake contest this Wednesday!
